Game 16 Scores

As much of a slice as the last week and a bit have been, this score keeper is happy to be passing the baton onto the Dutchies. Like a marathon runner crawling towards the finish line, exhausted and elated, last night’s game signifies the last time for about a year that I will be keeping score. Hope you enjoyed the ride with me.

Like I said though, I still have to cover this game so…

Once again, scores were fairly low as a whole. For last night’s High Boy though, holy jeeze, I don’t remember the last time a team has scored this high on back to back games!

Round 2 of the Posse vs. Witch Doctors was a nail biter until the end. Both teams received scoring from their expected stars, but at the end of the day, it was Nashville’s shutout vs Carolina’s one goal against that was the difference maker here. Unfortunately for the Posse, his temped Carolina team lead to his demise. Witch Doctors win this one 3.5 to 3.


If you cared to go down to the cellar last night, you would’ve seen two of its residents locked horns and a rather one-sided scoring affair. Although the Hackers were doing the majority of the scoring, their goalies also let in the majority of the goals. Unfortunately, the slumping Minnesota Wild lead to the Hacker’s undoing. The V Bombers rope-a-dope their way to victory winning 1.5 to 1 matching their longest winning streak of the year at 1!


For the second game in a row, the Flash take the High Boy honours (scored an 8.5 last game) proving that they’re not a (wait for it…) Flash in the pan! Poor Oles had about what was the average score on the evening, a very respectable 3. Powered by Radulov’s 3 Goals and one assist and contributions from all but one player, the Flash demolish and demoralize the poor unsuspecting Oles with a score of 10 (almost matching the Bomber’s total goal output for the whole year)! Flash win it 10 to 3 showing they’re very much a contender this year.


In the obligatory snore fest, the Wai’s Guys took on the Killer B’s. While the B’s had scoring from a few of their players, Wai only had scoring from his unlikely hero David Krejci. In the end, this game went to Overtime with a score of 1-1, but again, it was the aforementioned monster Krejci who, with his 1 Goal and 1 Assist carried the Wai’s Guys to victory as none of the B scorers had more than one point.


The Idiots, better known as the team of multiple personalities strutted into their game against the Sting with a big dumb grin on their face. Why the grin you ask? Well, because Mr. Crosby had promised he would produce at least 3 points during the game. As always, Sid delivered in spades and with minimal scoring (likely being awestruck at the wonder that is Sid the Kid), the Sting lose this one handily. Idiots are back on the winning side of the ledger taking this one 5.5 to 1.5.


In the final game of the evening, the Dutchies realized too late that maybe they shouldn’t have taken their team to Amsterdam’s Red Light District the day before a game. Much like the day before, the Dutchies team saw red lights going off fairly often during the game as the Foundation scored at a consistent clip. Even though Tampa goalies dealt the Foundation a minus 2, the Foundation go old school finishing the Dutchies with an elevated clothesline for the easy 1-2-3! Foundation take this one 3.5 to 0.
