Game 22 Scores
Mon Nov 11, 2019 4:29 pm
Sunday nights are always a favorite of the score keeper.......7 games makes it an easy process. They're usually low scoring games, but last night wasn't the norm.
Happy Birthday to the Posse, who turns 98 years old today (plus or minus 30 years.........)
Let's start with the Posse and Foundation. The Posse were trying to give themselves an early bday present a la Witch Doctors, but the Foundation weren't in a giving mood and rejected handing out gifts twice in one week (cheap bastard). This was an all out brawl in the Hart dungeon. Posse started out in a -3 hole thanks to their goalies, but fought valiantly to try and claw their way back. When the dust settled, the Foundation won the match and retain the belt with a 7 to 5.5 victory. Another high boy for the man in first, and a comfortable 6 point cushion.
They Wai's Guys came into the night clinging to a 1 point lead for the final playoff spot. They were facing a young but determined Bomber crew who watch a lot of game tape prior to the match of their glory years. Poor temp goaltending put the Guys in a hole early, and they just weren't able to muster any offense (or even get out of the negative). Bombers take this one easily 2 to (-2). Wai's Guys fall out of a playoff spot.
So who took the 8th spot you ask?
We'll, it sure as hell wasn't the Oranjemen, as the boys in Green beat them mercilessly with their own wooden clogs. Goalies were head to head thanks to the Flash temping a hot Edmonton team, which lead to a massive 2 point swing in the contest. Final in this one was 4-0 for the Flash, propelling them into a 3 way tie for second place.
I guess that you can now decipher who moved into 8th.........The Sting riding a 5 game unbeaten streak handed the Oles a loss in another high scoring battle. Final in this one was 5.5 to 3.5, with the Sting offense coming alive lead by RNH's 2 goals and the Marnerless Johnny T with 1,1. Austin Matthews tried his best to lead the Oles back with 4 assists, but it just wasn't enough.
The Hackers came out flying and surprised a surging Idiots team with a 3-2 victory. This one was tight all the way through with Klefblom and Strome making the difference for the Hackers. This ends a 5 game losing skid for them and allows them to keep pace with the V Bombers in the battle for the basement. Due to all the losses in the top half of the standing, Idiots stay within 5 points of 2nd.
Finally, the Killer B's just keep producing. It doesn't hurt to have the best player in the game, esp when he puts up a Hattie. The Doctors seem to have lost their mojo and are currently on a 3 game skid, while the B's are on a 3 game streak. This one wasn't close as the B's destroy the WD's 5 to 0.5. They have sole possession of 5th and are 1 point out of second.
3 stars:
Multiple players from the Hart / Posse match - they brought out the gun show!
Dadonov 1,2; Draisaitl 0,4; Kreider 1,1; Kane 2,1; Nylander 2,0; Kassian 1,2
RNH 2,0 - Broke out of his goal scoring slump and was the difference in the Sting / Oles match up (honorary mention to Matthews 0,4 in the loss)
Connor McD - Puts up the hat trick in a lopsided victory
