Game 18 scores
Sun Nov 03, 2019 2:57 pm
Saturday night had some feeling alright.........and others ready to throw in the towel.
Dutchies led this one all night long and went to bed feeling pretty good. Temp goalie shut out, Posse goalies gave up 5. As the night went on, the Posse chipped away, and when the Dutchies awoke, assists in the 3rd from Boeser and Burns had tied things up 1.5 o 1.5. Posse win it in overtime on the back of Boeser's 2 assists, leaving the Dutchies to contemplate whether they should sell everything off and go for it in 10 years instead of building for next year.
Great goaltending for both the Oles and KB's last night. Even forward scoring as well. But you know what they say, Defense wins championships, and the Oles on the back of a goal by Schmidt and an assist from Spurgeon take this match 4 to 1.5. The Killers drop to 6th, while the Oles keep pace with the pack at the top.
Another strong showing by Dallas, and another win for the Idiots. They look to be righting the ship and ready for a streak. It didn't matter that they were playing the lowly VB's, as they finished as high boy on the night and would have taken down anyone in the league. Final in this one was 5.5 to 1. VB's are only 10 points out of a playoff spot and just a minuscule 19 points out of first...........
The Wai's Guy's / Hackers tilt was never in doubt. The Guys had scoring coming from everywhere, while O'reilly was the on Hacker that showed up.........his score sheet looked like my last trip to the donut factory. Wai's guys take an easy one 3 to -0.5 and stay within 3 points of 4th.
The Sting were firing on all cylinders last night, as they faced the Witch Doctors and (in my humble opinion) the best player in the AHL (based on contract, points and schedule) David Pastrnak. Pasta did his usual thing with 1,2, but the Sting had their own stud on board with The Hub putting up 2,1. Sting win this shoot out 5 to 2.5 as they strive to get back in the playoff hunt.
Finally, the Hart Foundation and Flash played in the hardest fought battle of the night. It was a back and forth contest, and nothing was settled in regulation. Overtime was a brutally savage affair, but no clear cut winner was decided. Game ends in a tie 3.5 to 3.5 with Marchand and Barkov each putting up 2 points. The tie extends the Foundations hold on first to 2 points.
3 Stars:
Huberdeau FLA - 2 goals and an assist was the difference giving the Sting a much needed victory
Pastrnak BOS - Only other player in the league to pick up 3 points under the Saturday night spotlight
Boeser VAN - Lots of 2 point efforts out there, but Boeser takes 3rd star due to his OT heroics
